What to discuss
- Your website platform and current hosting type.
- The approximate number of websites and size of files, databases and mailboxes.
- The SiteCountry plan you are considering, or your existing service.
- Any preferred timing and known application requirements.
Keep passwords, API keys, transfer codes, database exports, payment details and other sensitive information out of an initial enquiry. Discuss any access requirements through the existing support process.
Plan the move before changing DNS
Support needs to confirm eligibility, scope, timing and any applicable charges. Maintain independent backups and agree how to check the migrated site before changing DNS or cancelling the old service. DNS propagation and migration can cause interruptions.
